Longing
Blinded by sorrows I long to see
The world beyond the deathly oceans and seas
Held back by duties I wait for dawn
As it calls me with a disturbing mourn
I'm called for. Do you listen?
But I'm still bound by the walls of this prison
The Aegean sky makes my heart race
Letting my wings unfold with grace
It screams at me, tells me to behold
The fear and malaise it could mould
Ah! I witnessed the marvel it received
When I broke the chains and ran into the field
Spread those wings and flew higher than ever
Ripped the beguiling sky and gone forever.
